Small restaurant with harbour views, Pacific Northwest, Farm-to-table

Wild Mountain Food & Drink

A chef-owned restaurant above Sooke Harbour cooking a short, changing menu from the farms, boats and foragers of the Sooke coast. The dinner that turns a West Coast Road day trip into an evening.

Wild Mountain is a small room with a wood-fired oven and a view across the harbour, run by a couple who cook what the immediate coast provides — and Sooke provides a lot, from the fishing fleet to the farms behind the town to the foragers in the forest. The menu is short and changes constantly.

It is forty-five minutes from Victoria, which makes it a destination dinner rather than a convenience; combine it with an East Sooke hike or a sailing trip from the harbour below.

What it does well

  • Wood-fired cooking
  • Local and foraged ingredients
