The Wick, as everyone calls it, opened in 1996 and set the template for Pacific Rim luxury — heavy timber, rain gear in every room, windows built for weather. In summer it is a beach lodge; from November to February it is the best seat in the house for the storms, which the inn markets openly and honestly.
It is expensive and it books out for storm-season weekends months ahead. The Pointe restaurant is the destination dinner in Tofino for a night when Wolf in the Fog is full.
Ideal for
The water
On a rocky headland at the north end of Chesterman Beach, with the surf and the storms directly below the windows.
