Black Rock sits on the exposed side of the Ucluelet peninsula where the Wild Pacific Trail runs along the cliffs, and its rooms and restaurant are built to look at the swell. It is the most polished place to stay in Ucluelet and the natural base for the whale and kayak departures from the Small Craft Harbour across town.
Choose it over Tofino if you want the coast with fewer people and a shorter drive from the highway junction; Tofino's beaches are half an hour north.
