Laurel Point sits on its own peninsula in the harbour, a Japanese garden on one side and the water on three, close enough to walk everywhere and far enough from Government Street to hear nothing but seaplanes. Every room has a balcony or terrace over the water, and the harbour ferries stop at the dock below.

It suits couples and anyone who wants Victoria's harbour without its crowds, and it is the closest good hotel to Fisherman's Wharf, where several whale-watching operators check in.
